Although the project faced some hurdles in the beginning, the McNary Dam Collection Channel Modifications project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule. The contract timeline for the project was scheduled from January 2, 2013 to March 30, 2013. This 12 week timeline corresponded directly with the in-water work window that was established by the Army Corps of Engineers. The Corps utilized the in-water work window to dewater the juvenile collection channel to complete scheduled repairs on the dam. The Corps required access through the construction project area to perform the critical repair work. MJ Hughes coordinated directly with Corps to maintain access to critical areas of the dam during construction activities. We were able to complete construction activities simultaneously with the Corps repair work, and the project was completed in 10 weeks.
