Hungry Horse Power Plant Window Replacement

This project for the United States Bureau of Reclamation consisted of removing and replacing the window units on the West elevation. The windows being replaced were from the original 1940’s construction of the Hungry Horse Dam and Powerhouse and included leaded glass and asbestos caulking. This detailed abatement work was carried out via work platforms installed above the generators during scheduled shutdowns. Windows were replaced in two phases, based on the shutdown schedule of two sets of generators. The work windows were tight, and weather presented challenges. MJ Hughes overcame these issues and delivered the project on time.
