Balch Creek

This City of Portland project required the diversion of 19 cubic feet per second through 400 linear feet of 36-inch fusion welded HDPE pipe. The removal and reconstruction of four trash screens in the stream channel, with new screens constructed on foundations.

Also constructed was 500 linear feet of builder design soldier pile retaining wall with precast concrete lagging panels. This project was within a city park area with very tight and constrictive access not only to the project site but also to the site through narrow old town residential neighborhoods. Our in-water work season is restricted to July 15 through September 30.
