Hoquiam Dam Removal

MJ Hughes constructed a new channel for the Little Hoquiam River, removed the existing dam, and re-directed waters into the newly constructed channel. The cofferdam method utilized by MJ Hughes for this project involved a water bladder temporary dam in conjunction with a bentonite slurry wall. The active river channel was diverted through a 60-inch HDPE diversion pipe which MJ Hughes installed and welded in-house.

Environmental concerns were paramount to all stakeholders, and MJ Hughes exceeded expectations in this and other regards.
