Hurricane Ridge Road Tunnel Repairs

This project involved over 7,000 feet of crack injection in three tunnels on Hurricane Ridge Road in the Olympic National Park near Port Angeles, WA.  The work involved drilling holes and inserting over 7,000 grout ports along the cracks and joints in the tunnel liners.  An expansive grout material was injected into the cracks and joints to seal them from moisture penetration.  The work was performed under single-lane closures to accommodate visitors to the Olympic National Park.  Other work on the project included temporary traffic control; temporary erosion control; patching existing damaged concrete; painting and sealing the walls and portals on the tunnels; replacing metal drainage grates; and trimming vegetation and removing loose material around the portals on the exterior of the tunnels.
