Lint Creek Cathodic Repairs

This project added years of life to the Lint Creek Bridge on HWY 34 near Waldport, Oregon. Before the repairs, the bridge girders, columns, and crossbeams had reinforcing steel that corroded to the point where in some locations, it was entirely gone, which created major spalling in the concrete and compromised the structural integrity of the bridge. ODOT contracted with MJ Hughes to selectively remove and repair delaminated concrete, make repairs to the reinforcing steel, improve continuity in the reinforcing steel, install cathodic anodes, and monitoring test wells so ODOT engineers could monitor and control future corrosion.
