Netherland Road Steel Girder Bridge

This was MJ Hughes’s first bridge construction project. The bridge is founded upon drilled shafts with concrete crossbeams and spans 150 feet in a single span. The project also involved blasting and solid rock excavation, mechanically stabilized earth walls with an architectural facing, which MJ Hughes performed in-house, and removal of the old steel truss bridge. MJ Hughes self-performed the drilled shafts, concrete work, steel erection, excavation, and bridge removal work.
